Inclusivity Clinical Consulting Services

ICCS collaborates with individuals and organizations to move towards a deeper understanding of disability diversity. We support and assist with increasing knowledge, skills, and abilities about inclusive disability practices by exploring personal biases and other obstacles that may interfere with the lack of integration of disability culture into work practices.

At ICCS, we believe that people and organizations:

AIM

...for growth and success by capitalizing on existing strengths to maximize potential

EXPERIENCE

...meaningful growth when there is a willingness to address difficult topics and work through the discomfort that accompanies challenging discussions and self-reflection

THRIVE

...when space is created for varying cultural identities (disability, race/ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, spirituality, etc.) to intersect, be heard, and be valued

STRIVE

...for greatness, but aren’t perfect, and that psychological science can be used to achieve any goal

FIND

...meaning and purpose in their personal and work relationships by understanding, listening, and helping others through daily interactions

Threading inclusivity into your organization and/or company can make the difference between excellence and mediocrity. Employee satisfaction, productivity of company goals, and client relationship establishment and retention are ALL a priority when individuals and teams feel respected and known for who they are and what they bring to any group. Our ICCS team can assist with culturally-competent inclusive training that enhances self-assessment, increases morale, and sparks excitement and creativity in the workplace.

Sexual Health

Satisfying intimate relationships are essential for better overall physical health, positive mood, stress reduction, and improved quality of life. Addressing intimacy and sexuality issues within outpatient, primary care, physical medicine and rehabilitation, and other integrated healthcare settings can be challenging for most healthcare professionals. Healthcare providers will be given knowledge and resources to accurately assess, treat, and/or triage sexual concerns in an accurate and comprehensive manner. Topics areas include:

Importance of sexual health within the context of healthy life styles

Sexual functioning across the life span

Reproductive Health

Reproductive health and mental health interact in complex ways for women. Women are at greatest risk of mental health difficulties during the perinatal period and perimenopause, and trying to conceive, fertility, and other health issues can all impact a women’s mental health and vice versa. Addressing the interplay between reproductive health and mental health within primary care, OB/GYN, and fertility clinic settings can be challenging for most healthcare professionals. ICCS consultants address the importance of assessing mental health and behavioral health within your practice settings as a tool to better understand mood effects on health, health behaviors (such as diet, etc.), and treatment adherence, resulting in decreased costs, attrition, and difficult patient interactions and increased client satisfaction. Healthcare providers will be given knowledge and resources to accurately assess, treat, and/or triage mental health concerns as they related to reproductive health in an accurate and comprehensive manner. Addressing shame and identity for women struggling with reproductive health (i.e. blaming self for infertility or miscarriage and feeling like a failure as a woman)
Respectful ways of referring clients to mental health care when needed
Behavioral health interventions for coping with perimenopause

Disability

People with disabilities enrich the workplace in ways that facilitate better team dynamics, increase company productivity, and improved inclusion of disability world view. Talking about disability in workplace settings has traditionally focused on the American’s with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the legal requirements necessary to accommodate employees with disabilities. Yet, discussing disability as a diversity factor at work is typically under discussed or ignored. The ICCS team understands disability from a multicultural perspective and sheds light on the social experience of disability through their training. Topics included in this training include:

How disability world view enhances work team progress
Definitions of disability community and culture
Disability frequently asked questions
Respectful ways of addressing disability in workplace settings
Strategies to increase recruitment and retention of people with disabilities
Facilitating inclusive discussions around disability workplace accommodations
Refining company policy through the addition of disability affirming business practices

We look forward to challenging your team to reach an optimal level of self-awareness and power to change themselves and their work energy. Show your employees that you do not simply believe in diversity and inclusion principles by moving forward with action and providing training that includes their voices and identities to make important change.
